Part of the BFI Melodrama Blockbuster Season, TNBFC presents a nationwide celebration of Nollywood: Africa’s second-largest film industry and a global cultural force. This specially curated season brings you the passion, drama, and spirit of Nollywood cinema through stories that explore the complexities of love, friendship, rivalry and resilience.

Across screenings in cinemas and community spaces, we’ll showcase classic and contemporary Nollywood movies that put vibrant, authentic and theatrical performances at the heart of the narrative. From glittering high-society dramas to intimate tales of sisterhood and betrayal, The Nolly-Oh Season brings you the icons of Nollywood from the 1990s-2010s, inviting all generations to the dynamic and daring melodrama only Nollywood can do. 

With support of the BFI Film Audience Network, awarding funds from the National Lottery in order to bring this programme to more audiences across the UK.
