What does cinema mean to you?
Whether you visit every week, once in a while, or only when a film really catches your eye, your experience matters.
Our Audience Survey is exploring how people across the UK discover, experience and engage with film and cinema. We want to understand what brings people through the doors, what influences what they watch, and how attitudes towards cinema are changing.
This new survey builds on our first survey, “Why do you go to the cinema?”, which gave us an initial picture of audience habits and helped shape this next phase of research.
Now, “Let’s Talk About Shaping the Future of Cinema!” goes further, exploring audience experiences, preferences, behaviours and demographics in greater depth.
Impact & goals
We want to hear from thousands of people across the UK, creating a richer and more representative picture of today's cinema audience.
The insights from this survey will help shape a new tool for the film sector. It aims to support distributors, exhibitors, filmmakers and industry partners to better understand audiences and make more informed decisions.
Most importantly, we want the people who make up the UK's cinema audiences to be part of the conversation.
How to help
The survey is made up of 4 sections covering your cinema habits, preferences, experiences and background and should only take a few minutes to complete.
Every question has been designed to support the development of the audience insights tool, so each response is valuable. Where possible, please complete the full survey.
The survey is anonymous. Your responses will only be reported in summary form and will not be used to identify you.
