QUEEN’s Park Community Council
About
Queen’s Park Community Council (QPCC) is London’s first and only Community (Parish/Town) Council and represents over 14,000 residents across Queen’s Park, Westminster. As a statutory body, it sits at the first tier of local government, working closely with residents, local organisations and statutory partners to strengthen community life and improve quality of life across the area.
QPCC is committed to building a connected, inclusive and thriving neighbourhood. Its work focuses on community wellbeing, local services, safety, the environment, and supporting initiatives that bring people together and amplify local voices.
QUEEN’S PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL International FILM FESTIVAL
Queen’s Park International Film Festival 2026 is part of our Curated Community Cinema programme, which delivers free, welcoming film screenings that celebrate global stories and local voices. Running from February to April 2026, the festival brought communities together through themed monthly programmes that reflected shared values, histories and lived experiences.
February opened with Love and Relationships to mark LGBT+ History Month, followed by Women Leads in March for Women’s History Month, and concluding with History & Politics in April. Alongside screenings, audiences enjoyed discussions and opportunities to connect, which created space for reflection, dialogue and celebration within the Queen’s Park Community.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAMME
In 2024, we partnered with Queen’s Park Community Council to deliver a Black History Season film programme at the Beethoven Centre in West London.
The series featured a curated selection of screenings including The Woman King, Black Joy, Babylon, The Story of Lover’s Rock, and Mami Wata, each presented with audience Q&As. The programme explored themes of resistance, identity, migration, Black British culture, and African histories, offering audiences a mix of contemporary and classic Black cinema.
Delivered throughout October and November, the screenings were designed to be accessible and community-led, with suggested donation tickets to encourage wide participation. Each event brought together local audiences to engage with film as a space for reflection, celebration, and conversation during Black History Month.
