Misan Harriman: Shoot the People, Andy Mundy-Castle

Filmed across the US, South Africa and the UK, Misan Harriman: Shoot The People (2025) focuses on capturing not just activists, but freedom fighters in an honest, harrowing and yet hopeful way. This documentary begins as Harriman’s work goes viral during the 2020 protests after George Floyd's murder, and from there he has photographed many significant protests across the world.

In 2021, he also became the first Black man to shoot a British Vogue Cover (in its 109 year existence) and has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short, The After (2023). Shoot the People is not only showcasing the incredible work of Harriman and his calm, yet commanding way to memorialise those who fight for peace and justice, but also about honouring those who held the camera before him and inspired his work. Misan Harrisman: Shoot the People is as poignant and stirring as the title suggests, but what really shines through is its celebration and dedication to tracing the truest forms of community and humanity.
