South Asian Heritage Month: Polite Society screening + performance and panel

Newham Community Cinema and UNDR LNDN, in celebration of South Asian Heritage Month present a special screening of Polite Society.

Ria Khan, a British-Pakistani teenager, dreams of becoming a movie stuntwoman. Despite facing discouragement from her traditional parents, Ria creates martial arts training films under her alter ego, "The Fury," with the help of her sister, Lena. However, when her sister decides to marry Salim, Ria believes she must save her older sister Lena from her impending marriage as she suspects Salim of having ulterior motives. After enlisting her friends' help, she attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.
