Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Windrush supported by Newham Council
FEATURE FILM: BABYLON
Babylon follows young reggae DJ (Brinsley Ford) who fronts a reggae Ital Lion sound system in Thatcher-era South London. As he pursues his musical ambitions, he also has to battle against the racism and xenophobia of employers, neighbours, police, and the National Front. A mix of music and social commentary, Franco Rosso directs a film that shows how Black men survived in the city and explores the dreams and fears of ordinary young Black British peoples.
