Sophia Gibber

Sophia Gibber is a BIFA-nominated producer and 2022 Film London Lodestar. She co-created the hit true crime podcast series ‘The Doodler’, produced Matt Chambers’ BIFA-nominated debut feature ‘The Bike Thief’ starring Alec Secareanu, and documentary ‘Playing the Part’ about Sir Ian McKellen. Most recently, Gibber produced Cal McMau’s acclaimed feature ‘Wasteman’, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and London Film Festival before receiving 5 BIFA nominations and winning Best Debut Director. The film will be released by Lionsgate in the UK on February 20 th and has also been BAFTA longlisted for Best Debut. Gibber has also produced a series of acclaimed shorts that have played at festivals worldwide including Sundance Film Festival. Gibber produced Phoebe Arnstein’s short ‘If You’re Happy’ starring Erin Doherty that was recently acquired by Disney+. In May 2025 Gibber co-founded the production company greyarea. with BAFTA Rising Star Winner David Jonsson. Gibber is a full voting BIFA and BAFTA member and holds an English degree from New College, Oxford.
