Shohini Chaudhuri

Shohini Chaudhuri is a Professor in the Department of Literature, Film and Theatre Studies at the University of Essex, specialising in world cinema and human rights. Her most recent book is Crisis Cinema in the Middle East: Creativity and Constraint in Iran and the Arab World (2022). A film activist as well as an educator, she has also organised public film screenings and talks for The Mosaic Rooms and Amnesty International.
