Rhys Aaron Lewis
Rhys Aaron Lewis is a writer-director from London. He began his career as a documentary filmmaker, making a series of short docs with BFI Doc Society, the BBC and the Guardian, before venturing into the world of narrative fiction. He has a particular interest in comedy and quirky stories which shine a light on marginalised communities. His most recent short, Run Like We, a (semi-autobiographical) coming-of-age tale about an awkward boy growing up in a sporty Jamaican household during the London Olympics, was funded by Prime Video UK and has screened at several BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals around the world. In 2024 Rhys was selected for the inaugural BFI x Glasgow Film Festival Funny Features Lab, where he is developing his debut feature, the crime-comedy, Hundreds and Thousands based on his award-winning short of the same name.
