Chee Keong Cheung

Chee Keong Cheung is an award-winning British-Chinese filmmaker with over 20 years of industry experience. His work includes collaborations with Richard Dreyfuss, John Hannah, Radha Mitchell, Famke Janssen, Ian McKellen and Michael Madsen, with feature credits such as Redcon-1, Underground and Bodyguard: A New Beginning. A multi-hyphenate creative, Chee writes, directs, produces and distributes across genres, with a strong focus on nurturing emerging talent. He regularly delivers masterclasses at institutions including the BFI and mentors through the Film London Connect programme.

As CEO of Action Xtreme, the UK’s first dedicated action studio and genre division of Sovereign, Chee oversees the development and production of action content while championing talent development initiatives, including the Women in Action Mentoring Programme and the world’s first MA in Feature Filmmaking with Falmouth University. He also leads Sovereign’s Distribution division, overseeing UK and international releases. His latest projects include The Experiment, Bad Day at the Office, and the Nigerian-set action thriller Son of the Soil, released in late 2025, with further releases continuing into 2026.
