CUSTODIANS OF THE ARCHIVES: SHAPING OUR FUTURE HISTORIES ONLINE

As part of the Undocumented project, The New Black Film Collective and London’s Screen Archives are pleased to present:

Custodians Of The Archives: Shaping Our Future Histories Online

Tuesday 31st March, 1-2pm, a lunchtime chat.

Following on from the sold-out Custodians takeover at BLOC, the 2025-2026 Screen Heritage Ambassadors continue the exploration of archives and community practice during this online lunchtime discussion.

This midday community chat is a chance to watch Monalisa Chukwuma’s “Custodians” -  a photographic and cinematic exploration of Black archival labour, community memory, and care, explore the creation of Dominique Vincent's “The Dreaming Behind An Archive” zine and speak with Ambassadors Naa Adjeley Kwei, Yaya Azariah Clarke and Ariane Barnes about archive as a communal practice.

This is a relaxed discussion with no Q&A, rather we encourage people to raise their virtual hand, drop comments into the chat as we go along, or of course sit back and enjoy some good conversation.

Tickets are free and booking is required. However, spots may be available on the day.

No children under 15 years old allowed.

This event is part of the Undocumented programme with the support of London’s Screen Archive. This event is made possible with the support of the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding
