Head Way: Unpacking Barriers to Pay and Progression

Focused on the theme of pay and progression disparity, Head Way seeks to unpack the challenges, explore current realities, and envision a future where every Black teacher is recognised, supported, and empowered to thrive in their careers.

Funded by the Racial Justice Fund from Trust for London, and supported by The Social Investment Consultancy and the Community Research Initiative at UCL, The New Black Film Collective presents Head Way.

Working together with a diverse group of teachers and educators with lived experiences of pay and progression disparities in the UK, Head Way is working to develop a vision of the future where Black teachers are respected and valued by the profession. We aim to tackle racial inequity in the teaching profession by advocating for changes to payscale and promotion practices.

Agenda:

7:00-7:05 - Welcome & Introductions

7:05-7:30 - Make Your Voice Heard: Introduction to the Head Way Survey
