Hokum

A horror writer visits an Irish inn to scatter his parents' ashes, unaware the property is said to be haunted by a witch.

Hokum, Damian McCarthy

A horror bestseller-writer, Ohm Bauman, visits his late parents’ honeymoon hotel, secluded in a forest in Ireland, as he aims to finish his latest novel. During his stay, Ohm faces a journey of reckoning with his mother’s passing, spiced-up by folkloric tales of witches, supposedly haunting The Honeymoon Suite, and the mysterious disappearance of a befriended member of staff, Fiona. Terrifying, suspenseful, with a healthy touch of comic relief, Hokum (2026) is the perfect mixture of jump-scare, psychological, and folk horror.
