An antique shop-keeper, Jesus Gris, discovers an intriguing gadget hidden inside a statue that suddenly bites him and sucks his blood. A man, Angel, enters the shop purchasing that very statue but the following day, the shop is ransacked. Jesus decides to face Dieter de la Guardia, a sick, rich businessman, cousin to Angel, who tells him the story of a gadget granting eternal life. Fantastical and neo-gothic, Cronos (1992) is a bizarre tale portraying the blinding ego to achieve the unachievable.
