Wasteman (2025) follows parolee Taylor (David Jonsson) whose hope of a fresh start is jeopardised by cellmate Dee's (Tom Blyth) arrival. As Dee takes Taylor under his wing, a vicious attack tests their bond, forcing Taylor to choose between protecting Dee and his own chances of parole. The film uses the prison setting to explore how toxic masculinity thrives in environments built on fear, power and control, being both a survival mechanism and a trap.
