An adaptation of the novel King’s Ransom and Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low (1963), Highest 2 Lowest (2025) is the fifth collaboration between Denzel Washington and Spike Lee. A man quietly striving to protect the values of his company, quickly transforms into a mogul, desperately trying to not only save his family from ruin, but prevent himself from falling from a precipice, into moral and social purgatory. 

With memorable colour grading, camera angles and aspect ratios merged into one, the artistry shines through the script and performance, married to every aspect of the film. Everything works in harmony, and the result is a profession of love to New York City, its culture and its people.
