H is For Hawk

After losing her beloved father, Helen finds herself saved by an unlikely friendship with a stubborn hawk named Mabel.

H is For Hawk, Philippa Lowthorpe

For Claire Foy; grief is more than a thing with feathers - it's a hawk named Mabel. This subdued portrayal of a woman dealing with loss of her eccentric father is often overshadowed by Foy's amber-eyed avian co-star whose wild untamedness keeps you on edge throughout. Death may be the subject of this film but even the most beautifully introspective moments pale in comparison to the lessons we learn about caring for a Goshawk.
