We have been shortlisted for Newham Council’s People Powered Places Big Vote in the Stratford, West Ham and Olympic Park neighbourhood!

This is your chance to help decide how £200,000 is spent locally and support:

  • PictureEast Film Festival 2027 (PEFF27)

  • Newham Community Cinema (NCC)

  • Creative, cultural and community film events across Newham

Why your vote matters

If awarded £20,000 from People Powered Places, we’ll use the funding to power Newham Community Cinema through 2026 and build towards PictureEast Film Festival 2027.

Your vote will help us:

  • Run monthly community cinema sessions with free screenings, panels and performances

  • Offer creative workshops, skills training and volunteering for local residents

  • Create work placements and hands-on roles for young people and emerging creatives

  • Deliver a free 7-day festival in January 2027 featuring films, talks, Q&As, live events, a marketplace and children’s activities

  • Keep Newham Community Cinema free, inclusive and reflective of Newham’s diversity, from Pride and International Women’s Day to Black History Month, Disability History Month and more.
