‘NOLLY-oh’ MELODRAMA SEASON

The ‘Nolly-Oh’ Season

TNBFC presents a nationwide celebration of Nollywood: Africa’s second-largest film industry and a global cultural force. This specially curated season brings you the passion, drama, and spirit of Nollywood cinema through stories that explore the complexities of love, friendship, rivalry and resilience.

Across screenings in cinemas and community spaces, we’ll showcase classic and contemporary Nollywood melodramas that put vibrant, authethic and melodramatic at the heart of the narrative. From glittering high-society dramas to intimate tales of sisterhood and betrayal, The Nolly-Oh Season brings you the icons of Nollywood from the 1990s-2010s, inviting all generations to the dynamic and daring, (melo) drama only Nollywood can do.

why nollywood?

Nollywood is unapologetic, fast-paced, and deeply connected to the everyday lives of its audiences. It’s a space where African stories are told on African terms- with all the colour, emotion, and authenticity they deserve. This season challenges outdated perceptions and invites UK audiences to experience the full power of Nigerian cinema.

The season will be a nationwide tour celebrating iconic Nollywood films, showcasing melodramatic, vibrant, stories rooted in Nigerian culture.
